Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them European Premiere
Trinity Set & Stage designed and built the scenic main stage and Newt Scamander suitcase photo wall for the Fantastic Beasts European Premiere in Leicester Square — set builder London craftsmanship at film premiere scale.
The Brief
Warner Bros and J.K. Rowling's production team briefed Trinity Set & Stage to design and build every scenic element for the European Premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in Leicester Square. As the first film in a new prequel series to the Harry Potter franchise, the premiere needed a show-stopping main stage and photo wall that would translate the magic of the movie into a live red-carpet brand activation London moment. The brief called for a hero photo wall built around Newt Scamander's iconic brown leather suitcase — the catalyst for the entire film — plus a 1920s New York wreckage scenic main stage to anchor the press call. This was a high-profile event production London project demanding screen-accurate fabrication, large-format scenic art and a flawless overnight install on one of the busiest squares in the capital.
Our Approach
Trinity Set & Stage approached the Fantastic Beasts premiere with the cinematic eye of a film production and the precision of a set builder London brands trust. Our design team studied the movie's hero suitcase frame by frame to produce CAD-accurate scaled drawings before fabrication began. Every detail — the stitching, brass locks (including the famous muggle-worthy lock), brown vintage leather finish, corner protectors and handle — was scaled up to an 8m x 2.5m architectural photo wall. In parallel, our scenic team built the 1920s New York wreckage backdrop, drawing on the same large-format scenic build experience honed on our Warner Music BRIT Awards after party (/case-study/warner-music-brit-awards-after-party/) and James Bond Spectre Odeon Leicester Square install (/case-study/james-bond-spectre-odeon-leicester-square/). It was a true event production London moment, delivered overnight to the famously demanding Leicester Square premiere schedule.
