Ames room illusion and mirrored bar build for the Kantar Conference by Trinity Set & Stage

The Brief

Create a striking, on-brand breakout environment that could be installed alongside the main conference build inside a two-hour install window.

Our Approach

We recreated an Ames room, the Adelbert Ames Jr. 1946 optical illusion that makes one person look giant and another tiny. From a 3D digital model we calculated every angle and height, then CNC-cut the walls for precision. The floor was elevated on steel deck with custom-cut legs and finished with a forced-perspective vinyl so the viewer's eye reads the room as flat. Alongside it sat a custom bar serving drinks, clad in mirrored HIPS to reflect the warped props and draped walls around it.
