Outlander Series 3 Bar Cladding | Sony Studios, London
Distressed scaffolding-board cladding for Sony Studios' Outlander Series 3 screening.

The Brief
The production team behind Outlander Series 3 briefed Trinity Set & Stage — a specialist set builder London film and broadcast clients turn to — to disguise an existing bar unit at Sony Studios on Golden Square as a rugged Highland tavern for a private cast and crew screening. The brief was demanding: clad a sleek, modern bar in distressed, hand-aged timber convincing enough to read as genuine period woodwork under camera-quality lighting, without damaging the underlying unit beneath, and turn the entire job around in under a week. Working for events agency Nibbs Events, Trinity needed to combine scenic carpentry with the fast production values a bar build London brand launches demand, all while meeting a hard broadcast-industry deadline.
Our Approach
As a bar build London production companies trust for scenic-quality finishes, Trinity Set & Stage treated the cladding as a piece of set dressing rather than simple furniture disguise. Our workshop hand-distressed genuine scaffolding boards, chain-beating each face to open up the grain and replicate decades of wear before anything went near site. We built the cladding in two long sections so the existing bar could be wrapped quickly on installation day, with a discreet lip designed in behind the bar top to keep the finish secure under the weight of leaning guests. This same attention to authentic texture and fast, clean-fitting builds runs through our wider portfolio of bar and bespoke furniture projects for entertainment clients across London.
