Starward Whisky
Trinity Set & Stage designed and built a bespoke whisky-barrel stand for Starward Whisky at The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show, Old Billingsgate London — a London set builder bespoke bar build for spirits brand activation.
The Brief
Replicate the look and feel of Starward's Melbourne distillery warehouse, whose walls are built from the staves of old whisky barrels, on a busy international tasting floor in central London.
Our Approach
The challenge was sourcing the right timber. We tracked down used whisky barrels made of increasingly rare English white oak, then broke them down and rebuilt the staves into four wall sections that could be flat-packed, transported and reassembled at Old Billingsgate. The wood arrived on stand still carrying the oak-and-aged-whisky aroma of its previous life, which became part of the tasting experience.
